The Ultimate Adriatic Island-Hopping Experience

A tour to the Blue Cave is the quintessential Hvar experience, taking you across the sapphire waters of the Adriatic to the remote island of Biševo. These excursions are more than just a cave visit; they are full-day adventures that typically include stops at the emerald Green Cave, the high cliffs of Stiniva Cove, the turquoise lagoons of Budikovac Island, and the chic beach clubs of the Pakleni Islands. Whether you choose a high-energy group speedboat or a customizable private charter, you'll witness the unique natural phenomenon where sunlight enters an underwater opening to illuminate the cave in a brilliant blue hue. Our platform connects you with the highest-rated operators in Hvar, ensuring safe vessels, expert skippers, and an itinerary that maximizes your time in the water and on the islands.

Planning

Historical Context

The island of Vis was a closed military base until 1989, which helped preserve its pristine nature and the authenticity of its fishing villages.

Photography Tips

  • Disable your flash inside the cave for better blue capture
  • Use a waterproof case or GoPro for swimming shots
  • A polarizing filter will help remove glare from the water surface

Insider Tips

  • Wear your swimsuit under your clothes as changing facilities on the boat are limited
  • Apply sunscreen before you get on the boat; the wind makes you forget how hot the sun is!

Our Partners

  • In partnership with Viator, TripAdvisor, and local Hvar maritime associations.

Fun Facts

  • The Blue Cave has two openings: a small one for boats and a larger underwater one that lets the light in!
  • Monk seals used to live in the nearby Monk Seal Cave until the mid-20th century.

Cancellation Policy

Most tours offer a full refund if cancelled 24 hours before the experience start time. In case of operator cancellation due to weather, a full refund or reschedule is always provided.

Pure Magic

The Blue Cave was even more stunning in person than in the photos. The speedboat was fast and fun, and our skipper, Mario, knew exactly when to arrive at each spot to avoid the biggest crowds. Stiniva Cove was a highlight!

Perfect Day Trip

Booked the 5-island tour and it was worth every penny. The Blue Cave is a natural wonder. The snorkeling at Budikovac was the clearest water I've ever seen. Great value for an 8-hour trip.

Great organization

Very easy to find the meeting point in Hvar. The boat was comfortable and clean. The wait for the Blue Cave was about 45 minutes, but the skipper took us to a nearby cove to swim while we waited for our ticket number. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable Memories

We did the private tour for our anniversary. It was amazing to have the flexibility to stay longer at the Pakleni Islands for lunch. The skipper was very professional and the cave was breathtaking.

A Must-Do in Hvar

You can't come to Hvar and not see the Blue Cave. The speedboat ride itself is an adventure. Snorkeling gear was in good condition and the 5-island itinerary is perfectly paced.

Beautiful Experience

The caves are beautiful, but be prepared for a long day on the water. Bring plenty of sunscreen! The crew was very helpful and the 'Mamma Mia' filming locations in Komiža were a nice touch.

Amazing Blue

The color of the water inside the cave is something I will never forget. Our guide explained the science behind the glow. Very professional service from start to finish.

Fantastic Speedboat Tour

Fast boat, great music, and incredible scenery. Stiniva Beach is a bit crowded but so beautiful. The Blue Cave is the star of the show. 10/10!
